‘Actually I am very fond of desi Khana!’: Ankita lokhande
Ankita remarked on patriotic movies: ‘There should be no option to love or not to enjoy patriotic films! Patriotism should be within. ‘Uri’ is a story about India now, ‘Manikarnika’ represents our history.’
Ankita Lokhande, who played Jhalkaribai’s character in upcoming movie ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, recently visited Ahmedabad. He enjoyed Gujarati thali in a restaurant and said, ‘I like to eat Gujarati food very much. Actually I am very fond of desi Khana! I am still eating Indian food at my home.’
Ankita Lokhande said , “The film has come at the right time. At present, the news of women’s atrocities are coming up frequently, this film will be very big & appealing for them. I think this film is for school and children. I want to tell the teachers of every school of Gujarat that they should show Manikarnika to their students. Because we are forgetting our real Indian history. Here the true story of our history and heroism is shown in this film. This film will also motivate every child. I want to tell the girls that they do not need to be pressed by someone or something. ‘
Ankita added, ‘Women have the right to be happy. I see that they are in a small village or in metro cities, they remain suppressed. Because, women have given them the right to do anything to them. Otherwise, nobody has the power to harass women. Kisi mai ke lal me dam nahi hai ki wo ladkiyono ko chhed shake!
The recently-released film ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ and now ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’, patriotism is full of two films. Ankita Lokhande said on these, “There should be no option to love or not to enjoy patriotic films! Patriotism should be within. ‘Uri’ is a story about India at present, ‘Manikarnika’ represents our history.’
